Honours Research Seminar

If you do not have conflicts with other courses, plan to attend the first instance of CPSC 349 (on Sept 10th, 2026). I will give an overview of the course and the honours program.

As 349 is a 0-credit course, the pass requirement on 349 is essentially a write-up after attending at least one talk in the department (I will give more details about this in the course itself). CPSC 349 is at the time slot it is because this is the time of our Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS), but you can go to other research talks in the department.

CPSC 349 will not meet at the meeting time every week. We might meet once a month or so — I will let students know in advance — to discuss the honours program, to prepare for the DLS, possibly to have talks from faculty members about their research area. These will not be recorded, they will be in-person. I may create a Piazza so 349 students can interact with each other as well.

If required for your degree, you can enrol in 349 even if you have a conflicting course in term 1 or 2 using a course conflict form.
